Art and entertainment collective Meow Wolf, famous for its imaginative projects, has named Jose Tolosa as its new CEO.
Formerly an executive at ViacomCBS, Tolosa brings more than 25 years of experience working in emerging industries.
In his new role, his key focus will be to continue to expand Meow Wolf’s presence in the US and further afield.
Tolosa takes the reins from co-CEOs Carl Christensen, Ali Rubinstein and Jim Ward. Ward remains an advisor to the company, while Christensen and Rubinstein return to their original roles of chief financial officer and chief creative officer, respectively.
“Meow Wolf has imagination at its core,” said Tolosa in a statement. “It’s not only poised to impact communities and artists, as it has already proven, but to change the way people think and experience the world around them.
“This unique and pivotal moment in the company’s history is an opportunity to seek sustainable, thoughtful growth, expanding our exhibitions and engaging beyond the four walls. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to become a part of such a fantastic organisation.”
