Disney’s fire-breathing dragon catches fire at Disneyland

The dragon from Disneyland’s Fantastmic show accidentally burst into flames this weekend, with the 45-foot structure’s head and then body quickly engulfed by the fire.

Disney said in a statement that it would be “temporarily suspending” fire effects similar to those used at Fantasmic “out of an abundance of caution” following the fire.

According to the Anaheim Police Department and Anaheim Fire and Rescue, six park workers were treated for smoke inhalation and officials are investigating the cause of the blaze.

A video posted on TikTok shows the fire from the perspective of the watching crowd.

“Your attention, please,” says a voice over the loudspeaker in the video. “Due to unforeseen circumstances, this performance of ‘Fantasmic!’ will not continue. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
