Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln - Disneyland’s classic stage show featuring an animatronic version of Abraham Lincoln - is undergoing an extensive refurbishment.
Opened at Disneyland in 1965 after first appearing at the 1964 New York World’s Fair, the attraction has undergone several renovations and reimaginings over the years, with the current version running since 2009. The show features an abridged version of Lincoln’s autobiography, the first two sentences from his Gettysburg Address, and the song Two Brothers.
Disneyland has filed building permits valued at US$5m (€4.6m, £3.9m) to replace show elements, lighting, audio and show systems for the attraction. The permit also says a platform will be replaced. A new turntable will also be installed and mechanical, electrical and plumbing work will be carried out.
The attraction has been closed since April 16 for its refurbishment, with the show remaining closed until at least June 19.
