Cruise operator Carnival is warning its guests against tiger cub petting, an activity on offer at some ports it docks at.
A letter written by ship captain Eduardo Ferrone on a stop off at Ensenada, Mexico, warned against tiger petting attractions, which Carnival does not have on its official activities list.
“As you get ready for our visit to Ensenada, we have an important advisory,” the letter reads.
“You may encounter restaurants/attractions (not associated with the ship's shore excursions program) in the port of Ensenada that allow you to touch or otherwise interact with tiger cubs. For public health, safety, and environmental reasons, Carnival recommends that you do not partake in such attractions, including, but not limited to, tiger cub attractions.”
