The Carnival Dream cruise liner helped a number of people in need after their boat capsized in the Belize Channel.

The Carnival Dream cruise liner helped a number of people in need after their boat capsized in the Belize Channel.

The ship was heading for Conzumel, Mexico, when its officers spotted the capsized boat and the group of 17 people in distress.

“Each member of the group rescued was in good condition before a transfer with the Belize Coast Guard was coordinated,” said a Carnival statement.

“Carnival Dream resumed its voyage, continuing on to Cozumel as scheduled. The ship departed Galveston, Tex. May 14 for a six-day sailing, and will return May 20.”

This is the third time this year Carnival crew have come to the aid of stranded seafarers, after officers on board Carnival Valor helped rescue three people in March, while in April 24 people stranded in a small boat were rescued by Carnival Spirit.
