Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s Valhalla reopens following £4m refurbishment

Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s indoor dark flume ride Valhallaha has reopened following an extensive £4m refurbishment.






Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s indoor dark flume ride Valhallaha has reopened following an extensive £4m refurbishment.

Originally opened in 2000 at a cost of £15m, the Intamin-manufactured attraction is one of the world’s longest indoor dark rides, with the experience lasting around six minutes.

The ride has remained closed since 2020, with its reopening delayed as a result of the pandemic.

In its new iteration, riders are immersed in four minutes of high-speed action, seeing them experience elements including fire, water, snow, and thunder and lightning. They also experience low temperatures of -20°C and highs of more than 43°C.

“We’ve worked so hard to find the perfect balance between maintaining nostalgia, giving the ride some much-needed TLC and adding in a few surprises for fans,” said Adam Slevin, director of Creative, Design & Experience at Blackpool Pleasure Beach

“Valhalla will test even the most confident rollercoaster rider’s limits, with plummeting temperatures, fiery furnaces and torrents of water.”
