The Aquarium of Niagara in New York, US, has appointed the Turner Construction Company to lead the development of its upcoming Great Lakes 360 experience.
The attraction is the result of a US$5m (€4.6m, £4m) investment and has been described as a “living museum featuring the notable wildlife of the Niagara River and larger Great Lakes ecosystem.”
Scheduled to open in June 2024, the experience forms part of a major expansion, the largest in the aquarium’s nearly 60-year history, that will see its number of exhibits increased by 40%.
"Visitors will have the opportunity to feel the mist coming off the falls, take to the trails to explore the unique areas of the Niagara Gorge, then come to Great Lakes 360 and really get to know the animals they may have just encountered outside through hands-on experiences and compelling interpretation," said Gary Siddall, president and CEO of Aquarium of Niagara.
