‘Unprecedented’ year for Vekoma as ‘incredible number of projects’ set for launch in 2024

From Circuit Breaker at Cotaland to Flight of the Wicked Witch at Warner Bros Movie World, Vekoma’s 2024 has been hailed as ‘unprecedented’ with the rollercoaster manufacturer set for a number of major project launches across the world in the coming year

Vekoma has hailed an “unprecedented” year, with the rollercoaster manufacturer set to launch a number of major rides globally - particularly in the US - in 2024.

From family-oriented rides to high-intensity thrill coasters, Vekoma says it is working on an “incredible number of projects” set to open this year.

Among Vekoma’s openings in 2024 will be its new Tilt Coaster Circuit Breaker at Cotaland - a first for any rollercoaster in that its location is directly next to a Formula 1, NASCAR and MotoGP racing track.

Also coming this year is The Flash: Vertical Velocity at Six Flags Great Adventure, which will be the first Super Boomerang model to open in North America,

For Santa’s Village in Jefferson, New Hampshire, Vekoma is installing a Horus Family Coaster dubbed Midnight Flyer, with the Northern Lights-inspired track allowing riders to feel like they are flying with reindeer.

Making its way to Kings Island, Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers takes inspiration from the soap box racing derby, inviting children and their parents the chance to choose their favourite Peanuts-decorated car before racing through a track filled with twists and turns.

Vekoma’s Good Gravy made headlines at the 2023 IAAPA Expo, with the ride at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari designed after the theme of Thanksgiving dinner. Opening to the public on May 11 2024, riders on-board will sit in a train shaped like a gravy boat, which will be pulled backwards uphill before dropping forwards through the station on a cranberry coloured track.

In Australia, Dreamworld will open the world’s first Switchback Coaster and Warner Bros Movie World will open a Family Boomerang Racer and Suspended Family Coaster at the world’s first Wizard of Oz precinct.

On top of these projects, other Vekoma attractions opening in 2024 include a Suspended Thrill Coaster and Family Boomerang with intertwined design at Emerald Park in Ireland, a Kalypso Family Coaster and Mine Train at Energylandia in Poland, a Family Boomerang and a Top Gun Launch Coaster at Fantawild in China.
