A theme park complete with digital multimedia technology, interactive device technology, video, sound, lighting, animation and other special effects is in the works in Chongqing, China, with the new attraction being dubbed a “Metaverse children’s park”.
Being developed at a cost of CN¥120m (US$16.7m, €15.3m, £13.1m) the north area of the park will be a natural ecological space, while the south will be dedicated to science, technology and sports.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on June 7. Companies involved include Chongqing Shanshuicheng Cultural Tourism Development Co and Jiangbei District Urban Construction and Development Co, who will spend 10 months reimagining the existing Chongqing Children's Park for reopening in May next year.
