Work on a US$1.4bn (€1.3bn, £1.1bn) Mexican theme park and resort development is continuing to progress, with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Mark Wahlberg, Jaime Camil, and Abraham Ancer unveiling Vidanta World in a star-studded promotional video for the destination.
Originally set to open in 2018 with a Cirque du Soleil theme, the park will open its first phase this year, with recent imagery showing the installation of several rollercoasters at the park, with Vekoma behind a number of the developments.
Expanded and rebranded as Vidanta World, the park promises to be “a multi-tiered destination of immersive entertainment and vacation experiences across several park concepts, spanning hundreds of acres and countless one-of-a-kind experiences.”
Cirque will still play a part, with a permanent dinner theatre to host shows called Cirque du Soleil JOYÀ, while a waterpark called Jungala Aqua Experience, and nature theme park will also feature. A sky gondola will transport visitors from the nearby Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta resort to all of the attractions under development.
Exploring the resort’s immersive experiences and lavish accommodations, Zeta-Jones, Wahlberg, Camil, and Ancer play hosts in a promotional video exploring each of Vidanta’s upcoming experiences.
“Vidanta is proud to partner with world-famous talent to tell the story of how we are continuously working to offer our guests the most extraordinary and celebrity-approved experiences,” said Ivan Chavez, executive vice president of Grupo Vidanta.
“We look forward to sharing new incredible adventures as we expand the Vidanta universe and transform the future of luxury entertainment travel.”
