WATCH: Meet WhiteWater’s chief marketing officer Una de Boer

WhiteWater brings a strong presence to each and every IAAPA Expo. The company’s chief marketing officer, Una de Boer, tells Planet Attractions about everything the company has to offer

As one of the leading designers and manufacturers of waterparks and attractions worldwide, WhiteWater always has a strong presence at IAAPA shows.

This year’s IAAPA Expo Europe in London was no different, with WhiteWater not only showcasing its range of traditional waterpark products but also its Vantage technology, FlowRider system and Endless Surf products.

Boasting one of the show’s biggest stands, there was a lot to break down from WhiteWater. Una de Boer, chief marketing officer at WhiteWater, spoke to Planet Attractions at the event to talk about everything the company has to offer.

What did you showcase at this year’s IAAPA Expo Europe?

“We had so much. We had one booth all about surf. That's FlowRider and Endless Surf, and our brand new product FlowSurf, which is super exciting.

Of course, we had WhiteWater with play and slides and we had some great award-winning new slides that are coming in. You could see the incredible model for the Icon Tower if you were at the show. It's going to be amazing when it opens in Qatar in the fall.

Then, of course, we had Vantage, which is our technology guest engagement platform, and we're really excited to be sharing that with the industry. We've got some great installs coming in the Middle East and North America.

Last but definitely not least we had water rides and our water rides portfolio for theme parks.

So whether you're a surf venue, a waterpark or theme park, WhiteWater can help you.”

How did you find the London show

“It's lovely to be back home in, sort of, my hometown. I've been living in Vancouver - where our head office is located - for about 11 years, so it's great to see how London has changed. It's still an amazing city and it's great to be back. I think I'm not the only one who thinks that because attendee numbers are also up, so from Barcelona last year to this year, we can see that the industry is coming back in and attendance is great and it's just great to be back together.”

What’s your favourite attraction?

“It's so hard. It's like, which is my favourite child? I don't want to favour any of the product lines, but given you're forcing me to, I think that the Boomerango is my all-time favourite. That moment of Zero G's as you climb the wall is amazing.

I also can't wait to try The Edge at Soaky Mountain because it's going to be incredible. But I've never ridden a SlideWheel. Maybe that could tip the Boomerango off my list. I also have to try and go and see the new Medusa SlideWheel at Mt. Olympus in Wisconsin.”
