The last of three hotels has opened at Universal’s upcoming Epic Universe in Orlando, Florida, ahead of the resort’s opening in May.

Called the Universal Helios Grand Hotel, the hotel is positioned as a premium offering for Universal visitors and is co-owned and operated by American luxury hospitality group Loews Hotels & Co. It joins the Universal Stella Nova and Universal Terra Luna hotels, which opened in January and March respectively.

Described as the ‘crown jewel’ in Universal Orlando’s accommodation portfolio, the Universal Helios Grand Hotel overlooks the park and offers 500 rooms, including How to Train Your Dragon-themed suites, as well as a dedicated park entrance for ticket holders.

Amenities include multiple dining options – such as an al fresco restaurant and rooftop bar – alongside a zero-entry resort-style pool, poolside cabanas, a fitness centre, games room, and a Universal Studios store

Guests will also have access to a host of exclusive theme park benefits including early admission, with guests able to enter the park an hour before opening, as well as a complimentary shuttle bus service to Universal’s other attractions.

Opening on May 22, 2025, Epic Universe is the first major Universal theme park to open in the US in 25 years and represents Comcast’s, Universal’s parent company, largest investment to date, rumoured to be approximately US$7bn (€6.2bn, £5.3bn).

Billed as the operator’s most technologically advanced and ambitious theme park to date, the 750-acre resort comprises five immersive lands offering more than 50 attractions as well as retail and dining experiences.

According to a new economic impact report commissioned by Comcast, the Epic Universe resort is likely to generate more than US$2bn (€1.8bn, £1.5bn) for Florida’s economy in its first year of operation.

Epic Universe’s opening is the latest in a series of exciting developments for Universal, with the operator most recently securing a deal with the UK government to build a multi-billion-pound theme park and entertainment complex in Bedford.
