The Thailand Amusement and Attraction Parks Expo (TAAPE) is set to return to Bangkok later this year, with the event promising to act as a key meeting point as the country aims to become a developed nation by 2037.

Thailand’s National Strategy was implemented in October 2018 with a vision of making the country secure, prosperous, sustainable and achieving developed country status. Among its goals, one of its focuses is to preserve the nation’s tourist attractions and increase the proportion of high-quality tourists in multiple tourism sectors.

As a result of this, TAAPE offers an “introduction to Thailand” with the event’s organisers saying the country provides “an ideal platform and important market for overseas enterprises for profit”.

Showcasing the latest innovations, technologies, and trends, this year’s TAAPE takes place inside the Impact Exhibition Center in Bangkok from September 3-5.

Promoting the amusement and attractions industry in Southeast Asia, professionals from Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and more will be in attendance, as well as international exhibitors and delegates.

Among this year’s exhibitors will be companies from 20 different countries, including Vekoma Rides, Semnox Solutions, Great Coasters International, Whitewater, Zamperla and more, with visitors able to explore a show floor covering around 10,000sq m (107,000sq ft).

The 2023 edition of TAAPE attracted visitors from 59 countries, with more than 165 exhibitors showcasing their various products to 9,528 attendees.

In previous editions, TAAPE has also covered a number of education topics, with workshops and seminars offering insight in areas such as rides, water-based attractions and virtual reality. For networking, TAAPE offers a business matchmaking service that connects exhibitors with potential buyers and investors.

“TAAPE is the first exhibition focused on the theme park, videogames and amusement products industries,” said a statement from the show’s organisers. “This year’s show will serve as a display window for the manufacture and design companies of theme park products set to enter the Southeast Asian market.”

TAAPE will be co-located with two other major events for the country - ASEAN Patio Pool Spa and Vend ASEAN. ASEAN Patio Pool Spa Expo is the only industry trade show in Southeast Asia showcasing Thai companies in the spas, swimming pools and garden sectors. Vend ASEAN, meanwhile, is Asia's most successful vending machine and self-service trade fair.
