The highly-anticipated Super Nintendo World will open at Universal Studios Hollywood in California on February 17, 2023, Universal has revealed.
The opening marks the North American debut for the attraction, which first opened at Universal Studios Japan in 2021.
Developed by Universal Creative in partnership with Nintendo, the immersive land will be located in a newly-expanded area of the park, with guests the land entering via a green warp pipe.
Attractions on offer include the state-of-the-art Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, a ground-breaking dark ride that combines augmented reality, projection mapping and practical set pieces.
Riders, wearing themed AR helmets, collect coins and compete for the Golden Cup on iconic Mario Kart courses alongside Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Yoshi.
The land will also offer several themed dining and retail options, including Toadstool Cafe, where guests can enjoy a gourmet menu created by Chef Toad himself, and the 1-Up Factory selling Super Mario-themed merchandise, including plushes and apparel.
