AV specialist Christie is powering a number of immersive exhibition spaces throughout Museum X - an exciting interactive museum that recently opened its doors in South Korea.

Located in the coastal city of Sokcho, the museum officially opened its doors in August and offers an “immersive new media playground” combining digital media art and technology.

Divided into four zones over 1,750sq m (18,800sq ft), the museum features 16 experiential facilities where guests can see a range of bright and colourful exhibits.

Through its partner SNC Alliance, Christie has provided 34 laser projectors to create the experiences. These include the Christie 4K7-HS, which features 4K UHD resolution, along with Inspire Series DWU760-iS and DWU960-iS models. These models were installed across the venue by systems integrator, Ten Square.

According to Dong-Woo Lee, CEO, SNC Alliance, the HS Series and Inspire Series projectors were chosen to accommodate the museum’s diverse spaces and to ensure that visitors can experience the immersive attraction’s seamless integration of art and technology without compromising on image quality.

“The 4K7-HS projectors are particularly well-suited for this project, excelling in challenging, space-limited installations,” he said. “Additionally, the versatile Inspire Series complements the setup. Both projector models offered hassle-free set up and enhanced the art and visual colours of the exhibition with optimal features.”

Experience creator Xorbis is behind various visuals and artworks, throughout the museum. Among these experiences, visitors enter a ‘media cocoon’, where their digital drawings are magically brought to life, while another area features a cosmic landscape, crystal blue sea, and vibrant sunset clouds that fill the room. Visitors are also taken on an immersive journey, as the floor, walls and ceilings are transformed into a highly immersive journey through iconic urban and natural landscapes across Korea.

“This project serves as a testament to the diverse capabilities of our laser projectors, catering to a range of needs and preferences,” said Paul Lee, sales manager for Korea, Enterprise, Christie.

“We’re confident that these professional-grade projectors will captivate visitors with awe-inspiring visuals, enhancing the overall museum experience in the years ahead.”
