A new attraction from ride manufacturer Vekoma will open at Six Flags Great Adventure this Spring, with The Flash: Vertical Velocity representing North America’s first Super Boomerang coaster.
A significant addition to the park’s roster of thrill rides. The Flash: Vertical Velocity is inspired by the DC Comics superhero of the same name, with the ride set to feature forward and backward launches, four inversions, 10 airtime moments and a top speed of 60mph (97kmph).
As riders, like the Flash, race at lightning-fast speed, a height requirement of just 48 inches (121.9cm) means the coaster is accessible to a wide range of guests. The ride will feature a 172ft (52.4m) lift hill, with riders racing along 1,430ft (435.9m) of track.
The Flash: Vertical Velocity joins a lineup of record-breaking rides, which includes the likes of Nitro, El Toro, and Jersey Devil Coaster.
“This high-energy ride delivers everything coaster fans are looking for - forward and backward launches, inversions, and an adrenaline rush that even The Flash himself would approve of,” said Brian Bacica, park president. “With its 48-inch height requirement, junior and experienced thrill seekers alike will have the chance to experience it firsthand.”
The ride’s spring debut coincides with the launch of the park’s 2025 Gold Season Pass, which offers unlimited rides on the new attraction, along with exclusive perks, including free parking and access to the park throughout the season.
