Sheikh Mohammed announces flying taxis in four Dubai locations



Dubai’s futuristic flying taxis are set to take off by 2026, with designs already approved for the upcoming ‘vertiports’.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai has approved models of stations for the aerial taxi ports, with the flying taxis having a theoretical top speed of 300kmph (190mph) and will be able to fly 241km (150m).

“Today, we approved the designs of flying taxi stations in Dubai which will operate within three years,” Sheikh Mohammed tweeted.


The flying taxis will have zero emissions and be able to carry four passengers and a pilot.
