The premier event for the cruise industry, Seatrade Cruise Global will explore the ‘Evolution of Cruise’ when it returns to Miami, Florida, US, next month.

Taking place this year at the Miami Beach Convention Center from April 8 - 11, SeaTrade brings together the international cruise community to network, learn and find new solutions to ongoing challenges.

Featuring more than 500 suppliers and all of the sector’s top names, the event has welcomed tens of thousands of people each year for more than 35 years and is packed with networking opportunities, educational content and new innovations.

The conference segment of this year’s event will explore key topics affecting the global cruise industry, including sustainability and regulation, port and destination developments, and cost control strategies.

The 2024 conference programming is designed to “provide a backdrop” for industry professionals to discover different areas of the market. It will also offer insight into a variety of topics, including entertainment strategies, decarbonisation, artificial intelligence, technological innovation, attracting new customers to the cruise sector and expedition, luxury and river cruising.

New for 2024 is Retail Day, a full day of programming dedicated to onboard retail. Organised in partnership with the Moodie Davitt Report - a business resource targeting the global travel-retail-sector - Retail Day will cover several key topics including luxury in cruise retail, sustainability and power of partnership, with the full programme to be released ahead of the event.

Another new addition is the New Presidents Panel, a panel discussion – moderated by Anne Kalosh, editor of Seatrade Cruise News – where attendees will hear from industry leaders on their biggest current challenges, growth opportunities and how their brands are adapting to changing customer demographics, as well as geopolitical issues and their continuing impact on the cruise industry. Speaking on the inaugural panel are Laura Hodges Bethge; Celebrity Cruises, Ernesto Fara; The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, David Herrera; Norwegian Cruise Lines, and John Padgett; Princess Cruises.

Back by popular demand is Tomorrow’s Talent Today - an event targeting students and industry professionals. Attendees will be able to meet with the cruise industry’s “rising stars” to identify and discuss several of the industry’s pain points, such as recruitment and retention, crew welfare and training. The event, taking place on April 8, includes a lunch and networking reception.

Also returning, is the F&B@Sea event, which will take place on April 10-11 at Miami’s Mana Wynwood Convention Center, with a regular shuttle bus running between the two venues.
