A brand new waterpark destination is coming to the Bahamas, with the upcoming Baha Bay set to become one of the premier tourist offerings in the entire country when it opens to visitors on July 2.
Part of the Baha Mar resort destination, the US$200m (€166m, £144m) waterpark will be available exclusively to guests of the resort, with the new addition covering 60,000sq m (645,000sq ft) of prime Caribbean beachfront.
Proslide has supplied the waterpark, which will feature 24 water slides, a dueling water coaster, group raft rides, a wave pool, an action river, and the first surf simulator to come to the Caribbean.
The new attraction will also feature an array of aquatic activities, as well as splash zones for kids of all ages, a private beach and a number of private cabanas.
In addition to the waterpark, the new development also features a number of dining options, as well as what Bahar Mar says is the only outdoor casino gaming pavilion to be located inside a waterpark.
The opening of the waterpark also comes with the reopening of the Baha Bay Beach Club - a luxury offering complementing the experience with beachfront views, 15 full-service private cabanas, daybeds, infinity pools and poolside lounge areas.
"As the latest addition to the resort destination's collection of celebrated adult and family-friendly offerings, Baha Bay will provide our guests with new exceptional experiences, suitable for all ages,” said Graeme Davis, president, of Baha Mar. “As we continue to redefine the Caribbean vacation, we're thrilled to reveal the launch of Baha Bay.”
