The Strong National Museum is set to host an online Zoom series featuring the most influential and creative innovators in the videogame and toy industries, starting with former Sega, Mattel and Leapfrog CEO, Tom Kalinske.
Called ‘Cocktails with the Creators’, each episode will be hosted by the museum’s play and history experts, who will guide the conversation and highlight artefacts which are a part of The Strong’s archive - the largest collection of toys, video games, and related archival materials anywhere in the world.
The museum is currently operating at limited capacity, thanks to COVID-19 with the "donate what you can" online experience, created to support the museum’s educational mission and programming.
Among the topics to be included in the inaugural Zoom session, Kalinske will discuss how he revived the Barbie and Hot Wheels brands, disrupted the video game industry by marketing Sonic and Sega Genesis to an older age group and reveal what led him to the world of toys and videogames.
The event takes place on February 25 at 6pm EST. For more information click here.
