As the attractions industry begins to place its focus on recovery following a tough year, IAAPA - the global attractions body - has announced the return of its three expos in Asia, Europe and the US, with the shows coming to Shanghai, Barcelona and Orlando in 2021.

The announcement comes as welcome news after IAAPA was forced to move its shows to digital platforms in 2020 thanks to the effects of the global pandemic.

Taking place between August 10 and August 13, IAAPA Expo Asia returns to China at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre - the same venue that hosted the event in 2019.

Just over a month later in Barcelona, Spain, the Fira Barcelona Gran Via will host IAAPA Expo Europe, which will place focus on reinventing, restarting and reconnecting. The event takes place between September 27 and September 30.

Finally, the jewel in IAAPA’s crown, the IAAPA Expo, returns to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida between November 15 and November 19. The show will feature more than 75 education sessions, with the opportunity to attend a number of exclusive networking events and explore the giant trade show floor.

“This past year has been unlike any other our association, and our industry, has ever encountered,” said IAAPA’s president and CEO, Hal McEvoy.

“Members have been looking to us to help them push the industry forward so guests around the world can safely return to the fun we are known for. The best way we can do this is by bringing the industry together for our global Expos. No matter what stage of reopening, re-emerging, or recovery members are in, they will be able to find inspiration, solutions, and new connections in Shanghai, Barcelona, and Orlando.”

All three Expo venues will follow appropriate health and safety guidelines based on each Expo’s timing and location, as well local rules relating to COVID-19.

Registration is now open for IAAPA Expo Asia in Shanghai, and IAAPA Expo Europe in Barcelona. For more information and to register, click here
