The doors have opened for a record-breaking IAAPA Expo Europe, with the 2024 edition of the event making its way to the RAI Convention Center in Amsterdam as the organisation has announced its first ever Expo coming to the Middle East.
Returning to a city known for its rich cultural heritage and strong ties to the leisure industry, this year’s tradeshow floor opened today (September 24th) and runs through to September 26th.
With over 680 exhibiting companies occupying more than 18,000sq m of space, this year's event is poised to break records, showcasing the largest exhibit floor in the history of the European annual expo.
“Returning to The Netherlands is a significant moment for our team, as this country’s deep roots in the leisure industry perfectly aligns with our mission to spotlight innovation and tradition at IAAPA Expo Europe,” says Jakob Wahl, president, and CEO of IAAPA. “This event brings together the best of our industry in one space, focusing on education, networking, and expanding business opportunities.”
The trade show floor opened following a ceremony featuring traditional Dutch music and dance, along with a show production.
Coming out of the opening ceremony, Jakob Wahl announced a new event for the annual attractions calendar, with IAAPA Expo Middle East, set to debut in 2026. The announcement marks IAAPA's first major trade show in the Middle East region - an area where attractions development is rapidly growing, particularly in Saudi Arabia.
"IAAPA Expo Europe is an exceptional opportunity for industry leaders to connect, collaborate, and discover the latest trends and technologies,” said
Peter van der Schans, executive director and vice president of IAAPA Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
“This year, we're excited to introduce new networking opportunities, such as the Family Entertainment Center Reception and the Science Center and Museum Reception, designed to foster meaningful connections within the industry. As we gather in Amsterdam, my home country, we look forward to showcasing the creativity and resilience of our industry while shaping its future. Amsterdam has always been a great host for this event, and we are proud to have the show here at the RAI for the fourth time."
