A new Ferris wheel attraction in China will open later this month on the traditional holiday of the Dragon Boat Festival.
Called “The Eye of Rural Revitalisation”, the wheel is located at the heart of an eco-agricultural tourism demonstration zone near the city of Chongqing, with the attraction aimed to accelerate the integration of agriculture and culture and to draw tourists to the location.
An investment of CN¥50m (US$7m, €6.5m, £5.5m), the wheel will reach a maximum height of 110m (360ft) and feature 48 individual pods. Visitors will be able to take in views of the surrounding cableway park, ecological vineyards, Jigongshan Amusement Park, and the banks of the Yangtze River.
