Gene Simmons, co-frontman of Kiss, has announced plans to open a museum dedicated to the legendary rock band, with more than 50 years’ worth of the star’s personal memorabilia set to go on display.

Covering 15,000sq ft (1,393sq m) at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, US, the Kiss Museum will showcase Simmons’ private collection, which has been kept at his home for many years.

Set to open in 2022, the museum is already in development and expected to open in March. Hundreds of items, including costumes, stage props, memorabilia, and gold and platinum albums will all be exhibited.

“The Kiss museum is really just my collection because I’ve got a half-century of Kiss stuff,” said Simmons, speaking to Review Journal. “I want the fans to see it.”

In addition to the museum, the existing Kiss-themed mini-golf course at the Rio is set for a 2,000sq ft (185sq m) expansion, with the glow in the dark attraction sitting next to the under-development addition.

“It’s going to be breathtaking,” said Simmons. “I was there the first day, as my stuff started to come in. We have three tractor-trailers full of stuff, and it’s going to be spectacular. The fans are going to dig it. You can play golf, you can have your photo taken, you can take videos of yourself onstage with Kiss, and then go visit my private collection.”
