Highlighting some incredible content, welcome to From The Community - a fortnightly roundup of everything fans and influencers from within the attractions community have been up to all over the world.
In this week’s edition of From The Community, we’re getting a first ride on Universal’s brand new VelociCoaster, a detailed history on Animal Kingdom’s Expedition Everest and how big would the Star Destroyer in Rise of the Resistance be compared to the rest of Disney World?
Starting with ThrillGeek, the crew has taken a ride on VelociCoaster at Islands of Adventure for the very first time as part of the Annual Passholder preview. Join Barry, Emily and Clint as they give their reaction to the much-anticipated attraction, with the trio sharing their thoughts and feelings as they take in the experience.
From the extinct to the abominable, as the mythical yeti hiding in Expedition Everest is uncovered by Expedition Theme Park, which has taken a look at Disney’s most expensive coaster in history - Expedition Everest.
Moving over to Knott’s Berry Farm and Theme Park Review, the channel has offered a first-person experience of the park’s brand new Knott’s Bear-y Tales dark ride attraction.
Meanwhile CoasterForce has been given a construction site tour of Deno’s Wonderwheel Amusement’s upcoming Vekoma suspended family coaster opening in 2021 - Phoenix.
Cedar Fair is a company that operates more than 15 different properties across the US and Canada. Exploring the history of the operator, Coaster Bot has taken a look at Cedar Fair’s a number of topics, including its rapid expansion and acquisitions of various theme parks over the last four decades.
Moving to a new attraction at Chessington in the UK, Cupcakes & Coasters has written a blog piece
on Croc Drop - explaining how big theming makes a big impact on such an attraction.
Sticking with Croc Drop, ParkSpill got to experience the ride recently, chronicling their experience of the epic encounter in a new vlog from Chessington.
ElToroRyan is back at another park this week, visiting Disney World’s Epcot for the first time in a year.
Adjacent to a theme park is the mini golf course at Alton Towers in the UK. Content creator Arch Nemesis, along with Kieran Adams, Jack Silkstone, Lee Searle and Archie Deaves played a round on the course, which is themed after the rides within the park.
Moving away from the parks into the realm of animal attractions, Parkineer this week made a visit to Maryland Zoo, taking in the sights on offer.
Finally, Midway to Main Street has asked a question almost certainly on the minds of many - How big is the rest of the Star Destroyer from Rise of the Resistance in relation to Walt Disney World and Disneyland?
