Epic Resorts Destinations has revealed details of several new attractions for its upcoming Mattel theme park.

Opening in 2023, the Mattel Adventure Park will be located in Glendale, Arizona, and will offer several key attractions inspired by some of the company’s most beloved toy brands including Barbie, Thomas & Friends and Hot Wheels.

The line-up includes the Barbie Dream House, offering a trio of experiences including a flying theatre attraction that will take riders on a journey from the depths of the ocean to outer space and the Dream Closet Experience, which will bring the iconic doll to life through state-of-the-art hologram technology. The Barbie Rooftop eatery completes the experience, offering panoramic views, pink beverages and sweet and savoury snacks.

The park will also feature three Hot Wheels attractions, including two rollercoasters; Hot Wheels Boneshaker: The Ultimate Ride and Hot Wheels Twin Mill Racer, and a 4D motion attraction, called Hot Wheels Unleashed 4D Ride, where guests are put behind the wheel of a custom Hot Wheels car.

The line-up is completed by a Thomas the Tank Engine ride, called Thomas Adventure Train: Treasure Hunt, as well as a Masters of the Universe Castle Grayskull-themed laser tag arena, a nine-hole immersive Pictionary mini-golf experience, Rock’ Em Sock ‘Em Robots and a UNO play structure.

“The expansion of this flagship attraction brings together the largest representation of Mattel’s beloved brands in a live space as never before,” said Julie Freeland, senior director of global location-based entertainment at Mattel.

“Mattel Adventure Park will be even more entertaining and engaging at launch with the addition of these iconic Mattel brand experiences.”

Mark Cornell, president of Epic Resort Destinations, said: “We’re extremely excited to add Barbie, Masters of the Universe and Mattel Games-themed attractions and rides to an already outstanding offering at the first-ever Mattel Adventure Park,” said Mark Cornell, president of Epic Resort Destinations.

“We have spared no expense to bring these iconic brands to life in ways that will delight visitors of all ages for years to come.”
