Mavor has been CEO of English Heritage since 2015
Kate Mavor CBE is to step down from her role as CEO of UK charity English Heritage later this year.
Mavor has held the role since 2015 and oversaw the organisation’s transition from a government body to an independent charity.
Before this, she worked as the chief executive of Project Scotland, a youth volunteering charity, and the National Trust for Scotland.
Beginning September 2023, Mavor will take up the role of Master of St Cross college at the University of Oxford.
“I feel genuinely sad to be announcing my departure this summer from my beloved English Heritage,” Mavor wrote on Linkedin.
“All good things must come to an end. It has been an enormous privilege to lead the organisation through its first years as a charity and to work with such a delightful community of dedicated people across the sector.
“I am delighted to be joining such an outstanding academic community and look forward very much to building on the college’s international reputation for excellence.”
