Do you dislike Christmas just enough that you think a stay in The Grinch’s lair would be the perfect fit? Well if that’s you, then good news! Thanks to a new partnership between Dr Seuss Enterprises and rental service Vacasa, the Grinch’s remote hideaway is being brought to life for the festive season, with special accommodation on offer for guests.
Housed inside a hand-carved cave set in a mountainside, just outside Boulder, Utah, the 5,700sq ft (529.5sq m) lair has been designed to replicate the cave The Grinch shares with his dog Max in the 2018 animated film version of The Grinch.

The immersive accommodation features two bedrooms, including a master suite and a guest room, as well as two bathrooms and a study.
A kitchen stocked with ‘roastable beast’ and an emergency stash of Who-pudding and Who-hash, as well as a music room equipped with The Grinch’s organ and Max’s drum set complete the offering.
Other amenities include a host of Grinch-y gadgets, including his elaborate coffee machine, and a wardrobe full of furry green leggings and Grinch slippers, so guests can dress up as the yuletide anti-hero.
The Grinch’s lair is available to book on the Vacasa website until December 23, and has a nightly rate of just US$19.57 (€17.30, £14.85), in honour of the book’s 1957 release date.
