Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Florida, US, is offering two new themed experiences to celebrate the release of Raya and the Last Dragon, Disney’s 59th animated feature film.

Beginning February 22, 2021, The Animation Experience at Conservation Station will offer a drawing experience, where guests can learn how to draw characters from the film, including Raya’s animal sidekick, Tuk Tuk.

The experience will include a behind-the-scenes look at the inspiration for the ‘part-pill bug, part-pug [and] part-high speed off-road vehicle’ Tuk Tuk, which will be hosted by the film’s stars Kelly Marie Tran and Awkwafina.

Meanwhile, the Discovery Island Stage will display a 40-tonne sand sculpture featuring characters such as Raya, Tuk Tuk, Ongi and Sisu.

A team of artists will begin constructing the sculpture on February 19 with the build taking roughly two days. It will remain on display throughout March.

“Animals have been an integral part of Disney storytelling and continue to inspire the development of new, beloved characters,” said Disney.
