Cruise Saudi welcomed a record number of tourists, with almost 9,000 visitors from three cruise ships passing through two Cruise Saudi ports on Saudi Founding Day at the end of February.
The King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam saw the arrival of the MSC World Europa with more than 5,600 passengers, while the Jeddah Islamic Port welcomed the MSC Splendida with more than 3,000 passengers and Residences at Sea’s luxury residential ship the World with more than 80 residents.
Saudi Founding Day is a national holiday that recognises the founding of the first Saudi state. Tourists were welcomed with traditional Founding Day activities and cultural gifts, such as coffee and dates, before embarking on one of several excursions, which included visits to AlUla, Jeddah’s Waterfront and Al Asha Oasis.
