Chessington World of Adventures could soon be home to a new themed land complete with a rollercoaster, children's ride and play areas if plans get the green light. The popular resort is looking to revamp one of its oldest areas to provide a 'wow factor' for visitors.
Merlin Entertainments has put forward plans to Kingston Council to replace the ageing Wild Asia section and an adjacent glamping site with the new themed land. Only the Kobra ride would remain but would be rethemed to fit the new attraction.
The proposed themed land would feature both indoor and outdoor rollercoasters, an immersive children's ride, themed play areas and sensory environments aimed at families with children aged six to 12 years old. New food and drink outlets with themed menus, a courtyard and a shop selling exclusive merchandise are also part of the plan.
