BoldMove’s Smash and Reload iterations and new IP company focus for 2024

BoldMove’s expanded Smash and Reload formats, as well as its new Voodoo Festival IP will be a key focus for the company through 2024

Following the success of Smash and Reload at French theme park Le Pal, BoldMove has partnered with Triotech on a new format of the award-winning dark ride - Smash and Reload Maxi, with the product officially launched at the start of 2024.

Blending digital and physical elements into an immersive experience, the new iteration of the dark ride caters to medium and larger-sized theme parks and other attractions, with a throughput of up to 600 people an hour.

With the addition of Smash and Reload Maxi, BoldMove and Triotech now offer three versions of Smash and Reload, also including the Original and Mini models.

The ride’s launch comes alongside that of Voodoo Festival - a second IP for the attraction that brings voodoo dolls to life as players act as “the last line of defence to save the Mardi Gras festival from their total takeover”. In the game, guests must throw “good luck bags” at the dolls to “break the curse and save the day”.

Additionally, a scarier Halloween version of Voodoo Festival can operate during the later hours of the day to fit for a more adult-oriented ride experience. The same theming applies but the voodoo dolls become more aggressive and intense.

From waterpark suppliers and media specialists to creative designers, dark ride producers and operations specialists, Planet Attractions has gone to every corner of the globe to find out what’s hot in 2024. To see the full Supplier Showcase, click here.
