Aquaman: Power Wave set to open at Six Flags Over Texas in March

The long-awaited Aquaman: Power Wave at Six Flags Over Texas now has its opening date, with the Mack Rides coaster set to open on March 11.

The long-awaited Aquaman: Power Wave at Six Flags Over Texas now has its opening date, with the Mack Rides coaster set to open on March 11.

Featuring a splash track, the LSM launch coaster reaches a maximum height of 146.3ft (44.6m) and speeds of up to 62.1mph (100kmph). The ride will launch guests back and forth over 700ft (213m) of track before plunging them straight down with a 90-degree drop.

The ride was originally supposed to open in 2020 but was pushed back a year thanks to the global pandemic. The ride was delayed again to 2022 in order to build a turntable to increase capacity. The ride was again delayed to 2023 but the reason was never shared.

“Six Flags Over Texas is known for providing innovative thrills and delivering the special moments that create fond family memories,” said Richard Douaihy, Six Flags Over Texas park president.

“We are so excited to introduce Aquaman: Power Wave to legions of thrill seekers, and we feel that spring break is the perfect time for the grand opening of this epic new attraction.”
