Ahead of this year’s IAAPA Expo Europe, Alterface has unveiled three new theme designs for its award-winning Action League dark ride concept.
Launched in 2020, Action League is a tournament-style dark ride that combines interactive duel shooting with competitive gameplay and a dynamic, multi-axis rotation platform.
An entirely scalable attraction, the experience can accommodate up to 1,000 riders per hour and is completed with an interactive queue line that offers riders a glimpse into the on-ride action.

The attraction won Best New Product Concept: Major Attraction in the 2022 IAAPA Brass Ring Awards.
Commenting on the award, Alterface CEO Stéphane Battalille said: “That recognition inspired us to fully develop Action League into an attraction that would engage players and keep them coming back for more.”
“For our clients, we wanted to optimise every square metre and create an easy-to-use, easy-to-upgrade product,” he added.

Three new turnkey themeing and media packages have been developed for the attraction, including The Green House, The Daft Pirates and Giant Robot Intense Tournament (G.R.I.T).
Offering a thrilling player-versus-player experience, The Green House is set in a steampunk world ruled by mutant plants. Players travel through levels of an infested greenhouse to find and destroy the plants.
Developed in partnership with Bon Art Studio, The Daft Pirates is a family-friendly adventure that transports guests to an island populated by cute and colourful characters. Players are tasked with defending the island’s hidden treasure from invading pirates
Described as the fusion of elaborate game design and classic video game mechanics, G.R.I.T is set inside a giant robot. Riders shoot power nodes to collect bonuses, inflict penalties and boost performance.
