Perth Zoo has officially opened its new café precinct, playground and function centre to the public, with the launch underpinning a AU$51m (US$32m, €30.1m, £25.9m) investment from the Australian government into the attraction.
Situated at the centre of the zoo, the café precinct includes dine-in and takeaway outlets, as well as a coffee and wine bar, with all F&B options situated next to the new playground.
"Their official launch ahead of Perth Zoo's 125th birthday is an important milestone for the Perth Zoo Master Plan, bringing the first suite of projects to life,” said Roger Cook, the current premier of Western Australia.
"Under the masterplan, our iconic zoo will be able to modernise and deliver even better experiences for visitors, while ensuring stronger conservation outcomes for threatened species."
