A brand new entertainment destination has been brought to life, with Aquatic Development Group (ADG) playing a key role in the realisation of Oklahoma City’s US$400m (€384m, £318m) Okana Resort and Indoor Waterpark.

The new attraction in Oklahoma, US, is made up of a 100,000sq ft (9,290sq m) indoor waterpark - the largest in the region - alongside a 196,000sq ft (18,200sq m) outdoor adventure lagoon.

ADG has played a central role in the creation of this massive waterpark, with the company helping to shape every phase of development from concept to execution as the project’s design/build firm.

Okana comes complete with a range of attractions designed to appeal to families and thrill-seekers alike. These include high-speed water slides, a 6,200sq ft (575sq m) wave pool, a 420-foot (128-metre) lazy river, luxury cabanas, and a dedicated adult-only pool. In addition, the outdoor lagoon, which is scheduled to open in the summer, will offer an array of attractions such as body slides, an inflatable obstacle course, and a “fly” pool designed for guests to zip, jump, and slide into the water.

In addition to the waterpark, Okana also offers a luxury 404-bedroom hotel, multiple dining establishments and a state-of-the-art family entertainment centre. According to ADG, the resort sets a new standard for leisure and tourism in the region, offering both locals and visitors a comprehensive entertainment experience that blends thrill rides with relaxation in an immersive, world-class environment.

“ADG is honoured to have played a role supporting this project - not only as a water feature design/builder but also through our developer services programme,” said Jim Dunn, president of ADG.

“This holistic approach allowed us to help shape the resort from concept to completion. The partnership between the OKANA team, the Chickasaw Nation, and ADG has truly resulted in something special.”

ADG’s expertise was crucial in delivering a fully realised vision for Okana Resort. In addition to its design and construction services, the company managed the budgeting, planning, and execution of the project, ensuring that it was completed on time and within scope. ADG’s contributions spanned the full spectrum of development, from the initial concept phase through to the installation of water features and attractions. The company’s WaveTek wave generation equipment was incorporated into the waterpark, elevating the guest experience by offering a variety of aquatic activities for different age groups and interests.

The successful completion of OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark further solidifies ADG’s reputation as a leader in the design, construction, and management of water-based attractions. As more large-scale projects are being developed globally, the company continues to play an integral role in shaping the future of entertainment destinations.
