3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum inaugurated

The 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum has today been inaugurated ahead of its public launch tomorrow (March 31).

The country is developing a number of new buildings ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Qatar in November.

Designed by Spanish architect Joan Sibina, the museum is 19,000sq m (205,000sq ft) and has been built onto Khalifa International Stadium - one of the World Cup venues.

“The 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, comes after Qatar’s outstanding performance at the Tokyo Olympics, and just before we host the World Cup in November 2022,” said Sheikha Al Mayasa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, chairperson of Qatar Museums.

“Culture and sports are two sides of the same coin, and there is no better time to celebrate our nation’s investments in both Culture and Sports. Two pillars that also support Qatar’s investments in Education and Health.”
